mjf is a not-for-profit organisation and was born in 1996, out of a desire to celebrate and provide a platform for the region's contemporary jazz musicians and composers, and to increase awareness of their music.
The website brief was to build a site that is completely updateable and managed by mjf, with the aim of reusing the site year after year without looking out dated – the site is totally skinnable and has a extensive bespoke CMS.
Harper James really pulled out the stops for new our festival website: our aim was to make it clean, clear and user-friendly, and to tie it in with other printed material that we use to promote the festival. But it also had to be easy for us to manage: we need to update the entire content every year to reflect each festival programme.
I'm happy to say that Harper James exceeded our expectations of what was possible, and of the ease of content management. They successfully merged our very particular requirements into a smart, quick site that is easy to use; and one, which requires minimal cross-referencing when updating event details. It has been well received by our audiences, and the extra innovative podcast feature has been a talking point across the jazz community. Well done and thanks again for all the hard work!
